Description

Lavender has been grown and loved for so long and so widely that there can be few who do not know the plant. Both flowers and leaves are aromatic, and the unique lavender scent is exuded as much in midwinter by the silvery-grey foliage as in summer by the long floral spikes of deep purple blooms flowering from June to September.

Lavender can be used in pots, herb gardens, as a border shrub or to create a hedge 30-60cm high.

Lightly trim away the old flower heads after flowering in the autumn, and re-shape the plants in the spring with a gentle trim as the new foliage emerges so that the plants fill out.
