Buxus sempervirens – Box hedging

Description
Known also as Box, Boxwood & Common Box, Buxus sempervirens was originally used as a surround for medieval herbs plots and formed the basic pattern for the Elizabethan knot garden.
With its small leaves and dense habit it creates a perfect manicured hedge. Grows well in full sun and semi-shade. Trim to shape from May to early June and again in September if required. Always trim on a cloudy day to avoid scorch to the new leaves.
Box requires plenty of water but never likes to sit in water so a fertile well drained soil is required.
We recommend Topbuxus health mix for feeding your Buxus. Please contact us for more information on this and a range of other great products to keep your box in tip top condition.
