Ilex Aquifolium Argenteo Marginata

Description

In my mind this is the most attractive of all hollies. With its dark green leaves, evenly variegated in silvery-white which later turns creamy-white this broad-leaved silver holly also produces a purple tinge on the leaves as they form in late spring.

This evergreen shrub can sometimes grow irregularly in the first years, sometimes conical, sometimes rounded, but always dense. Later if properly pruned, like these specimens on sale they will become widely pyramidal.

Suitable for a sunny position and tolerant of shade, they require fertile, loose, permeable soil.
